  • Create, craft and collaborate to bring viewers the information and stories they need and want to see that educate, update, inspire and motivate them

  • Effectively communicate with anchors, reporters, crew to ensure that Hawaii News Now is providing the best, up-to-date, compelling content

  • Write, compile and edit stories in all visual formats (VO, VSV, PKG)

Weekend Edition

  • Served as Executive Producer, Producer, Writer, Assignment Editor and Video Editor for all weekend newscasts

  • Developed strong leadership and communication skills with a small but mighty team

9 p.m. and 10 p.m.

  • Identified at generated fresh content for Hawaii's most-watched nightly newscast

  • Coordinated with reporter to make sure their content was well-developed as a solid lead


Hawaii News Now: Sunrise

  • Headed up communications with a six-person anchor team, production crew, and live reporters for a quick-paced, constantly evolving 4.5-hour daily newscast

  • "On The Road" field producer for shows in which our anchor team went into communities for live coverage

  • Coordinated live interviews for newscasts and special projects and served as point of contact

5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

  • Coordinated with a powerhouse team of reporters, assignment desk, management, editors to relay story expectations so that there a consistent and clear flow to the newscast

  • Daily duties included writing and gathering original stories, conducting and transcribing interviews, working with editors to ensure best video was used.

Hawaii News Now at 5: Mid-Air Scare

A Turkish national is suspected of trying to breach the cockpit of an American Airlines flight bound for Honolulu. Hawaii News Now reporters obtained exclusive details about the suspect and spoke to passengers who described the struggle inside the aircraft to keep everyone safe.

On June 30, 2017, a plane went down under a busy freeway in Moanalua. Good Samaritans rush to rescue the victims.  Our team of reporters spoke with the rescuers and first responders who say it could have been much worse.

Hawaii News Now at 5: Marco Polo Fire

A massive, 7-alarm fire erupts at the Marco Polo Condominium in Moiliili. Honolulu police and firefighters will later confirm that 4 people were killed and 13 others were hurt, including a firefighter. The inferno burned for hours and caused more than $100 million in damage. Our team was live and spoke with evacuees.
